How to make it

  • Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add aternately with water to creamed mixture. Stir in kraut. Bake @ 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.
  • I am assuming you would put this in a 9 x 13 pan.
  • The recipe calls for it to be frosted with a chocolate satin frosting. I will post it seperately.

I was so glad you posted this recipe. My grandmother used to make it and though I have most all of her recipes, this was one I could never find. My husband didn't believe it existed! I know from past experience it is a great, moist cake that no chocolate lover will be disapointed in having made. And as other's have said, no one will know about the kraut unless you tell them! Thanks again!!
