Three Cheese Macaroni
From breezeatdawn 16 years agoIngredients
- 2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni shopping list
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine shopping list
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning shopping list
- ½-1 tsp. black pepper shopping list
- ½ tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 c. milk shopping list
- ¾ c. (3 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- ¼ c. grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1 can (14 ½ oz.) diced tomatoes (I've tried the flavored ones but find the plain tastes best, you can also omit the tomatoes if you don't like them) shopping list
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese shopping list
- ½ c. dry bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Spray 2-quart round casserole with nonstick cooking spray (or 9X12 baking dish)
- COOK pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Meanwhile, MELT butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, Italian seasoning, pepper and salt, stirring until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Add Cheddar and Parmesan cheeses; stir until cheese melt.
- LAYER pasta, tomatoes and cheese sauce in prepared dish.
- COMBINE mozzarella cheese and bread crumbs in small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over casserole.
- BAKE, uncovered, 35 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
