This was published in the BJ's Journal along with ads and coupons....it looks wonderful so I thought I'd share. Soaking the plank is NOT included in the prep time Photo grom Pillsbury 1999

Ingredients
  • 2" x 8" x14" untreated cedar plank, soak a minimum of 2 hours
  • Pre-heat grill to medium high
  • 2 lbs fresh salmon
  • 6 Tbl dijon mustard
  • 6 Tbl Brown sugar
  • salt
  • freshly ground pepper

Directions
  1. Pat salmon dry
  2. It can be cut into four servings, which will cook more quickly or left as one piece
  3. Place salmon on plank that has been lightly rubbed with olive oil
  4. Season salmon with salt and pepper
  5. Spread top and sides with mustard and sprinkle with brown sugar
  6. Center the plank over indirect heat (the side where the flame isn't)
  7. Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes depending on size of pieces
  8. Serve directly from plank

This is a delicious way to grill salmon! We've been doing it for years! Cedar plank should only be used once though.


This is fantastic. I have heard of using the cedar but I have not tried.
