How to make it

  • Boil potatoes until fairly tender. Fry bacon. Save bacon fat. Crumble bacon.
  • Mix bacon fat, sugar and vinegar in the fry pan used to fry bacon. Stir and bring to boil for a minute or two until ingredients are well blended.
  • Place lettuce leaves on a platter. Set the hot potatoes on lettuce. Pour the hot sauce over the potatoes which will marinate in the sauce. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top and shake paprika over all.
  • The recipe suggests surrounding the platter with cucumber slices, tomatoe slices and thin slices of onions.
