Ingredients
  • 8 potatoes, thinly sliced and boiled to fairly tender
  • 6 slices bacon, fried and bacon fat reserved
  • Sauce:
  • 1/2 Cup bacon fat
  • 2 Tbl. sugar
  • 1 Cup vinegar
  • Lettuce
  • Paprika

Directions
  1. Boil potatoes until fairly tender. Fry bacon. Save bacon fat. Crumble bacon.
  2. Mix bacon fat, sugar and vinegar in the fry pan used to fry bacon. Stir and bring to boil for a minute or two until ingredients are well blended.
  3. Place lettuce leaves on a platter. Set the hot potatoes on lettuce. Pour the hot sauce over the potatoes which will marinate in the sauce. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top and shake paprika over all.
  4. The recipe suggests surrounding the platter with cucumber slices, tomatoe slices and thin slices of onions.
