Spectacular basic hummus

- 1 can garbanzo beans, drained (reserve 1 or 2 T of liquid) shopping list
- 2 T tahini paste shopping list
- 1 large or 2 small cloves of garlic shopping list
- 1/2 t. cayenne pepper shopping list
- juice of 1 lemon shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 3 T. olive oil, plus a bit more for drizzling on top. shopping list
How to make it
- Puree all ingredients in a food processor.
- Add reserved liquid to make hummus your desired consistency. I love mine thick and creamy, similar to a peanut butter consistency.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to let flavors meld.
- To add some extra zip to this, add one of the following: roasted red pepper, marinated artichokes, kalamata olives, etc.
