How to make it

  • Add all ingredients, simmer slowly in pot on low heat for one hour. Serve over tortilla chips or with corn bread (or crackers)..
  • Can be cooked in crock pot all day on low. Recipe can be doubled or tripled.

    hey, Betty, when you get to your 'Mexican and Latino' food store, try getting the Hatch Green Chile. any other green chile is not worth your time. :D

    you should try cooking the onion with the ground beef.
    two onions per pound. it is delicious

    Okay, just checked it out and it is quite different from plain old cornmeal. Hominy is the kernel left over from the corn being soaked in lye or lime, and cornmeal is just dried whole corn ground coarsely. What an education! I also found a grocer that specializes in Mexican and Latino foods and he's just around the corner! Can't wait to try it!
