Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat the oil over medium heat and add the onion, apple, carrots, vinegar, and salt and continue cooking until the cabbage and carrots begin to soften, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the broth and - if you made this with the Sage Rubbed Pork Chops, put them into the pan with slaw.
  • Bury them in the vegetable mixture.
  • Cover and cook until chops are tender.
  • Serve by placing the slaw on a small platter and placing the pork chops atop.

Made this tonight alongside the Sage Rubbed Pork Chops.....mmmmmmm! This Warm Apple Slaw is so good, I think it will become a favorite to serve along with our smoked pork butts. Outstanding, absolutely wonderful recipe. Thanks!

Sounds very good! I grew up with coleslaw and what the family called, 'hot slaw', this sounds very similar to that recipe, but with the addition of apples for more sweetness. I'm gonna save it and try it this fall, thanks for posting. My grandfather should love this! ;D
