Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine beer and steak sauce in a small boiler and heat until bubbly, and set aside.
  • If doubling the sauce, divide into separate containers.
  • Lightly shape beef into four patties, each about 3/4" thick.
  • Place patties and onion slices on grill over medium, ash-covered coals.
  • Grill, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes or until centers of patties are no longer pink and onions are tender, turning occasionally.
  • Season burgers with salt and pepper, if desired, after turning.
  • About 2 minutes before burgers are done, brush generously with sauce and top with cheese.
  • Line bottoms of crust rolls with lettuce leaves, top with burgers grilled onion slices and sauce.
