Grilled Backyard Brew Burgers

- Brew Burgers- shopping list
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or chuck shopping list
- 4 slices, 1/2-inch thick, vidalia onion shopping list
- 4 slices swiss cheese shopping list
- 4 crusty white or whole wheat rolls, split shopping list
- Brew Sauce (I usually double this, one/half for basting, one/half to go over the grilled burgers) - shopping list
- 1/4 cup beer shopping list
- 1/4 cup prepared steak sauce shopping list
- Toppings if desired - shopping list
- lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, dill pickles shopping list
How to make it
- Combine beer and steak sauce in a small boiler and heat until bubbly, and set aside.
- If doubling the sauce, divide into separate containers.
- Lightly shape beef into four patties, each about 3/4" thick.
- Place patties and onion slices on grill over medium, ash-covered coals.
- Grill, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes or until centers of patties are no longer pink and onions are tender, turning occasionally.
- Season burgers with salt and pepper, if desired, after turning.
- About 2 minutes before burgers are done, brush generously with sauce and top with cheese.
- Line bottoms of crust rolls with lettuce leaves, top with burgers grilled onion slices and sauce.
