Ingredients
  • 1 1 lb. flank steak, silver skin and fat removed
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 4 medium cloves garlic, crushed
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • SAUCE:
  • 2/3 cup roasted reed bell pepper rinsed and drained id bottled
  • 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds, dry roasted
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh Italian parsley
  • 1 medium garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

Directions
  1. Put the steak in a shallow glass dish.
  2. Rub the steak on both sides with the pepper.
  3. Sprinkle both sides with the garlic.
  4. Using your fingertips, press the garlic so it adheres to the steak. Cover and refrigerate for about 8 hours.
  5. Preheat the broiler.
  6. Lightly spray the broiler pan and rack with cooking spray.
  7. Sprinkle the salt over both sides of the steak.
  8. Broil about 4" from the heat for 4 minutes on each side.
  9. Transfer to a cutting board.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes.
  11. Thinly slice against the grain.
  12. Meanwhile on a blender process the sauce ingredients for about 20 seconds or until chunky.
  13. Spoon over cooked meat
