Sweet Potato Biscuits

- 1 1/4 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup, cooked, mashed sweet potatoes, cooled to room temperature shopping list
- milk (0-4 tablespoons) shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Stir in sweet potatoes. Stir in milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough holds together. Turn out onto a floured board. Knead slightly. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake about 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
