I wanted to make something like a Chinese stir fry that would be quick and easy and low in sodium, so I came up w/ this!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole wheat orzo
  • 1 lb. sugar snap peas
  • 3/4 lb. chicken tenders, cut into bite size pieces
  • 5-spice Chinese powder
  • garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 - 1 cup white wine

Directions
  1. Cook orzo according to directions and set aside.
  2. steam sugar snap peas.
  3. Heat skillet and spray w/ cooking oil and season the skillet w/ Chinese powder and garlic powder.
  4. Add chicken and season the tops as well.
  5. Pour balsamic vinegar on chicken to you liking.
  6. Once the pan starts getting sticky, pour in wine and cook until liquid reduces and alcohol cooks off.
  7. Add green onions and cook for a minute or 2.
  8. Add in orzo and sugar snap peas and mix.
  9. You can add salt and pepper if you want
