Chocolate Almond Biscotti

- 1 1/2 cuups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup cocoa shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp.baking soda shopping list
- 2/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 Tbsp butter, softened shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 tsp.almond extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup almonds, coarsely chopped or slivered shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch baking pan.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda; set aside.
- In large bowl beat sugar, butter, eggs and almond extract until creamy.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture.
- Stir in almonds.
- Divide dough in half.
- Shape into 2 long logs, about 12 inches each .
- Flatten slightly to make bottom flat, but keep top rounded (you want a crescent shape).
- Place on prepared pan.
- Bake 25 minutes.
- Cool in pan on wire rack for 5 minutes.
- Cut into 1/2 inch diagonal slices; return slices to pan.
- Bake 20 minutes more, until very crisp.
- Cool completely.
- Makes 4 dozen.
