Fabulous Chocolate Chip Little Bars With Meringue Topping

- 1 cup soft butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup Imperial brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup Imperial Graunulated sugar shopping list
- 3 egg yolks shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cold milk shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 cups sifted flour (before flour came sifted!) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 1 8-ounce package chocolate chips shopping list
- MERINGUE TOPPING shopping list
- 3 egg whites shopping list
- 1 cup Imperial brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Cream shortening and Imperial Brown and Granulated Sugars
- Add egg yolks and beat well
- Add cold milk and vanilla alternately with sifted dry ingredients
- Spread evenly in a well-greased 11" X 16" pan
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips
- Set aside and prepare meringue topping
- MERINGUE TOPPING
- Beat egg whites until stiff
- Add Imperial Brown Sugar gradually
- Fold chopped pecans in carefully
- Spread meringue topping over prepared batter
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
- Allow to cool before cutting
- Cut into 1 inch little bars
