- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 2 T. oil shopping list
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups self-rising cornmeal shopping list
- 1 egg, slightly beaten shopping list
- 1-1/4 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 cup black beans (rinsed & drained) shopping list
- 1/4 cup whole sunflower seeds shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter in a 12" round iron skillet.
- Saute onions until clear then transfer to mixing bowl.
- Add 2 T. oil to your skillet and put it in oven to preheat for at least 5 minutes.
- To the onions, add cornmeal, flour, beaten egg, buttermilk, and spices, then stir to mix.
- Fold in cheese, beans and seeds.
- Carefully pour into hot skillet.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes.
