This is that popular crazy cake you mix the cake all together in the pan which you bake it in. Also called whacky cake.

Ingredients
  • Mix
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2/3 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 1/3 cups Sugar
  • Wet ingredients to add later
  • 3/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 cups Water

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, cocoa powder and baking powder.
  2. Layer ingredients in jar in order given in a 1 quart canning jar.
  3. It is helpfulto tap jar lightly on a padded surface (towel on counter) as you layeringredients to make all ingredients Crazy Cake
  4. Pour contents of jar into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan, then add the
  5. following ingredients:
  6. 3/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  7. 2 tsp. Vinegar
  8. 1 tsp. Vanilla
  9. 2 cups Water
  10. Stir cake ingredients together using a wire whisk or fork, making certainthat all ingredients are completely mixed together.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. or tested done
  12. Frost as desired, or serve sprinkled with powdered sugar,with fresh fruit on the side.

Great Post.... I make a mean by scratch chocolate cake and the key to mine is to mix 1/2 cup of milk with 2 Tab of vinegar and let set for 10 mins. add to dry mix, is actually like buttermilk... makes is sooooooooo moist.
