Ingredients
  • 6 cups fresh chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons celery seeds
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. To prepare tomatoes peel them by soaking them in boiling water for a couple of minutes.
  2. Remove seeds and chop tomatoes.
  3. Combine sugar, vinegar, celery seeds, salt and pepper in a large bowl then stir until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, onion and green pepper.
  5. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
