Easy As Beef Bourguignon

- 2T butter shopping list
- 2T oil shopping list
- 2 small onions quartered shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- 4-6 rashers bacon, chopped shopping list
- 3/4kg chuck or round steak, cut in 2cm cubes shopping list
- 4T flour shopping list
- 1tsp thyme shopping list
- 1tsp oregano shopping list
- 1T tomato paste shopping list
- 1c beef stock shopping list
- 1c red wine (I use 1/2c wine and add an extra 1/2c stock) shopping list
- 250g sliced mushrooms shopping list
How to make it
- Heat butter and oil in pan. Add onion, garlic and chopped bacon. Saute until onions are tender.
- Dust meat in flour and add to pan. Cook until meat is browned.
- Transfer to a slow cooker and add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours.
- Season to taste and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

What a wonderful combination of flavours! The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The sauce had a great flavour that worked fantastically with the mushrooms and beef!
