Easy As Beef Bourguignon Recipe
This is delicious, very rich and flavorful, and very easy to make. I serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.

Ingredients
  • 2T butter
  • 2T oil
  • 2 small onions quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4-6 rashers bacon, chopped
  • 3/4kg chuck or round steak, cut in 2cm cubes
  • 4T flour
  • 1tsp thyme
  • 1tsp oregano
  • 1T tomato paste
  • 1c beef stock
  • 1c red wine (I use 1/2c wine and add an extra 1/2c stock)
  • 250g sliced mushrooms

Directions
  1. Heat butter and oil in pan. Add onion, garlic and chopped bacon. Saute until onions are tender.
  2. Dust meat in flour and add to pan. Cook until meat is browned.
  3. Transfer to a slow cooker and add remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours.
  5. Season to taste and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
