How to make it

  • Peel the bananas,slice crosswise into rounds almost all the way through,keeping the form of the banana together.Wrap each banana individually in plastic wrap and freeze.
  • About 1 hour before serving,soak the raisins in the rum.
  • Separate the frozen banana sliced and puree them in a food processor or blender.Add the raisins and the rum,and process for about 30 seconds more.Serve the ice cream immediately in stemmed glasses.

    What is the purpose behind slicing the banana almost all the way through and keeping the banana shape, when in the next step (after freezing) is blending up the banana? D'oh! Homer doesn't understand.
