To honor a great old-time actress and dancer- one of my Pappa's favorites. Very refreshing! Recipe courtesy of Jeff Hollinger, Absinthe Brasserie and Bar, San Francisco, Calif.

Ingredients
  • 8 to 12 leaves of mint
  • 1/2 oz. ginger syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz. gin
  • 1/2 oz. lemon-lime juice
  • Ginger ale
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Directions
  1. In an 8 to 12 oz. Pilsner or Collins glass, cover mint leaves with ginger syrup and muddle lightly until the mint begins to release its aromas.
  2. Fill the glass with ice and add gin and lemon-lime juice.
  3. Top off with ginger ale.
  4. Using a bar spoon, stir the drink from the bottom up to mix.
  5. Garnish with lime wedge.
