Basil Brie In Pastry Recipe
This is great to serve on a cheese tray for a party. Very creamy and delicious.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1 14 oz round brie
  • 1 pkg Croissant dough

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Grease cookie sheet.
  3. Mix Parmesan cheese and basil.
  4. Cut cheese round horizontally into 2 layers.
  5. Sprinkle basil mixture evenly over cut surface.
  6. Reassemble cheese round.
  7. Roll crescent dough, 15 X 9 inches, on lightly floured surface.
  8. Cut out 2 circles, 8-1/2 and 6 inches.
  9. Place 8-1/2-inch circle on cookie sheet.
  10. Place cheese in center.
  11. Bring pastry up and over cheese.
  12. Press to make smooth and even.
  13. Brush top edge of pastry lightly with water.
  14. Place 6-inch circle on top and press gently around edge to seal.
  15. Cut decorations from remaining pastry if desired. I usually make little leaves to put on it.
  16. Moisten pastry with water to attach.
  17. Bake about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  18. Cool on wire rack 30 minutes before serving.
  19. Serve with assorted crackers or fruit if desired.
