How to make it

  • Mix beef, salt and pepper. Divide mixture into quarters, then divide each quarter in half (make 8 patties). Pat each portion out on a sheet of waxed paper to about 4-1/2 inches in diameter.
  • Combine barbecue sauce, mayonnaise and mustard. Spread 4 of the patties with this mixture, dividing the mixture among them.
  • Top each of the sauced patties with a slice of Cheddar cheese and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  • Cover filled patties with remaining patties, pinching the edges to seal well; be sure to press out any air bubbles. Be careful to seal the cheese inside.
  • Refrigerate or cook immediately. Place on an electric, gas, or charcoal grill, or on broiler pan. Broil about 6 inches from source of heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until done to your liking. Place on hamburger buns. Serve immediately.

Sounds like a great twist on stuffed burgers. What brand of bbq sauce do you use?
