Ingredients

1 3/4 Ibs. extra lean ground beef

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

2 Tbsp. smoky tomato barbecue sauce

1 Tbsp. mayonnaise

1 Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard

4 slices sharp Cheddar cheese

4 slices Swiss cheese

4 large sesame seed hamburger buns, split in half; toasted

Directions

Mix beef, salt and pepper. Divide mixture into quarters, then divide each quarter in half (make 8 patties). Pat each portion out on a sheet of waxed paper to about 4-1/2 inches in diameter.

Combine barbecue sauce, mayonnaise and mustard. Spread 4 of the patties with this mixture, dividing the mixture among them.

Top each of the sauced patties with a slice of Cheddar cheese and a slice of Swiss cheese.

Cover filled patties with remaining patties, pinching the edges to seal well; be sure to press out any air bubbles. Be careful to seal the cheese inside.

Refrigerate or cook immediately. Place on an electric, gas, or charcoal grill, or on broiler pan. Broil about 6 inches from source of heat 6 to 8 minutes per side or until done to your liking. Place on hamburger buns. Serve immediately.
