Marinated Onion Rings

- 1 large spanish onion, sliced into thin rings shopping list
- cold water to cover shopping list
- 1 cup graulated sugar shopping list
- 1 cup vinegar shopping list
- 1 cup cold water shopping list
- 1 tbsp. salad oil shopping list
How to make it
- Slice peeled onion into almost the thinnest slices you can. Separate into rings and place in bowl. Cover with lots of water. Let stand for 1 hour.
- In small saucepan mix sugar, vinegar, water and oil. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Drain onions. Pour sugar-vinegar mixture over onions. Let stand in refrigerator, covered, for at least one day before serving. Serves 8 to 10.
