Hot Tamale Soup

- 1 pound ground beef shopping list
- 1 onion chopped shopping list
- 2 or more cloves of garlic shopping list
- 1 bell pepper chopped shopping list
- 1 tbsp chilli powder shopping list
- 2 tsp ground cumin shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- pinch of cinnamon shopping list
- 3 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 1 14 oz chopped can tomatos with juice shopping list
- 12 purchased tamales (i did frozen ones ) shopping list
- 1 15 oz can of pinto beans rinsed and drained shopping list
- 1 cup frozen corn shopping list
- Shredded cheddar for topping shopping list
How to make it
- Heat large heavy sause pan on Medium- heat
- Add first 4 ingredients and cook until beef is browned and breaking apart
- Add chilli powder,cumin, cayenne and cinnamon and cook for about one minute
- Add broth and tomatoes with juice cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- While this is simmering heat tamales according to package instructions
- Stir beans and corn into soup and simmer until corn is heated through 3 mins.
- season with salt and pepper.
- Place 2 tamales in each bowl ladle in soup and sprinkle top with chedder cheese.
