Chocolate Caramel Cake

- 1 box chocolate cake mix shopping list
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup buttermilk shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 2 cups brown sugar shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- 1/4 butter-cubed shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoon heavy whipping cream shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Sift cake mix into a large mixing bowl.
- Add coffee,eggs,oil,and buttermilk.
- Beat on medium speed for 4 minutes.
- Pour batter into a greased and floured 9" x 13" x 2" baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool on wire rack.
- Frosting:
- In a medium saucepan,combine brown sugar,milk,butter and salt.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until mixture reaches 235 degrees(soft ball stage).
- Cool completely.
- Transfer to mixing bowl and beat in sugar,cream,and vanilla.
- Continue beating until mixture becomes spreadable.
- Spread frosting over cooled cake.
