How to make it

  • Sift together powder and sugar into flour.
  • Sift together twice into large mixing bowl.
  • Add the shortening, cutting in with pastry blender, until mix is consistency of corn meal.
  • You can also do this in your food processor or in the kitchen-aid with the whip attachment.
  • Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.
  • In the warmer months I stash mine in the fridge.
