How to make it
- Have lard (shortening) at room temperature, put in bowl and add boiling water.
- Stir with a fork until creamy.
- Add flour, sifted with salt and baking powder
- Makes one two crust pie

I still use crisco, you just can't beat it for pie crusts, biscuits and cornbread! I remember my grandmother having those big buckets of lard. Fantastic post!bluewaterandsand in GAFFNEY loved it
