Ingredients
  • 4 thin slices of black forest ham
  • 3 ounces of fontina cheese grated
  • small handful of arugula
  • 4 ounces trimmed asparagus spears, steamed
  • 2 vine-ripened tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

Directions
  1. Arrange the ham, grated fontina, argula, asparagus, and tomatoes over 2 slices of bread.
  2. drizzle with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar and top with the lids.
  3. toast the sandwiches in a sandwich grill for 3 - 4 minutes , until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted.
  4. serve immediately.........
  5. serves 2......

Just got a panini maker, can't wait to try it out with this recipe. Love these ingredients!!


Sounds like dinner tomorrow (gonna be HOT here)! I don't have a panini maker but the plates for my waffle iron are two sided and I use the smooth side for grilled sandwiches (it's how I make my Reuben sandwiches). It does everything exactly like a panini machine except the grill lines.
