Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp seasoning salt
  • 1 (12 lb) whole turkey
  • 3 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tbsp dried minced onion

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350F/175C and while that heats, rinse your turkey and throw away the giblets.
  2. Put your bird in a roasting pan (or "Dutch Oven") and cut the skin above the breast to make pockets between the skin and the meat. Place 3 tablespoons of butter on both sides of your bird in these pockets.
  3. In a large bowl, mix up your water and bouillon and sprinkle on your minced onion and parsley. Pour this mix over your entire bird. Then sprinkle a bit of seasoning salt over the entire turkey.
  4. Cover your bird with foil and let bake for 3.5-4 hours. When finished it should reach an internal temperate of 180F/80C in the thigh region. About 30-45 minutes before the bird is finished, take off the foil so that the bird will brown. And that is it! Just a few easy steps to ensure you have a successful holiday bird.
