How to make it

  • Mix cocoa, sugar, salt and flour well in a bowl. Heat milk and butter to scalding in heavy pan. Add 1/4 cup water (or milk) to dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour into milk mixture and simmer about 5 minutes until thick. Add 1 tsp. vanilla. Gravy will become clear when done. We serve over hot buttered biscuts.

    I love chocolate gravy - but my poor gravy never gets to see a piece of bread or biscuit - I eat straight from the pot with a spoon.
