Gos Red Beans And Rice Recipe
Tis dish is a new spin on a southern favorite.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 lb. of hot bulk sausage ( a roll of jimmy dean will do)
  • 2 green bell peppers chopped
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 3 cans of kidney beans drained
  • 3 large cans of whole tomatoes squished (the tomatoes not the cans)(and reserve the liquid)
  • 4 dashes of worcestershire sauce
  • 4 dashes of ot sauce
  • 2 cups of uncooked long grain rice (I use Uncle Bens)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Directions
  1. chop bell peppers and onions.
  2. saute in olive oil until tender.
  3. in a seperate pan brown and crumble the ground beef and sausage. ( drain well)
  4. drain the kidney beans
  5. in a large stock pot add meat, onion, bell pepper, beans, tomatoes, worcestershire and pepper sauce. simmer 30 minutes. stirring ocassionally.
  6. add salt and pepper to taste and continue cooking another 30 min.
  7. in a seperate pot boil rice
  8. when rice is tender drain.
  9. spoon rice into bowls top with red bean mixture.
  10. add a salad and some crusty garlic bread and your meal is complete.

I get stupid for details sometimes. Please supply the size of the cans for the beans and tomatoes. And what do you do with the reserved tomato liquid?
