Sausage Spinach Casserol

- 2 10-oz. pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained shopping list
- 1 15-oz. can great northern beans, rinsed and drained shopping list
- 2 cooked italian sausage links, sliced shopping list
- 1 12-oz. can evaporated milk shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided shopping list
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves, minced shopping list
- 4 tsp. butter shopping list
- 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Stir in 1/4 cup cheese, lemon juice and peel, nutmeg and pepper. Transfer to a greased 2 quart baking dish.
- In a skillet, saute garlic in butter until tender. Remove from heat; stir in bread crumbs and remaining cheese. Sprinkle over spinach mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 375 F for 30 minutes or until heated through.
