Kentucky Hot Brown  Open Faced Sandwich Recipe
Great to use with that leftover turkey during the holidays. Deli turkey can be used too.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon wite pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 slices of italian bread toasted
  • 8 tomato slices
  • 12 slices of cooked bacon crumbled
  • enough cooked sliced turkey for each sandwich (you want the turkey to cover the toasted bread)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
  • paprika

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. in a sauce pan melt butter and stir in flour over low heat
  3. blend until smooth add salt and pepper
  4. gradually add broth and milk stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
  5. Add cheese and simmer about 10 minutes.
  6. while sauce is simmering...
  7. place pieces of toast on a baking sheet (2 pieces per serving)
  8. place turkey on top of toast
  9. spoon sauce on top of turkey
  10. put 2 slices of tomato on each serving
  11. sprinkle with paprika and crumbled bacon
  12. bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until sauce is bubbly.
  13. remove, plate, and enjoy
  14. add a salad or some fresh steamed broccoli or asparagus

This does sound good. LOL always need some way to use up leftover turkey.
