Brie With Caramelized Pecans

- 2/3 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup spiced pecans shopping list
- 1 wheel ripe brie cheese top rind cut off evenly shopping list
How to make it
- Combine brown sugar and water in a heavy bottomed saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Continue to cook over medium heat until mixture reaches soft ball stage.
- Let the mixture cool slightly then stir in the cream.
- Continue to boil another 5 minutes or until the mixture is slightly thickened and glossy.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter then fold in pecans.
- Pour caramel mixture evenly over top of cheese letting a little of it run down the sides.
- Serve with crackers and apple wedges.
