Fast and Floral Sweet Rolls

- ~Dough~ shopping list
- 1/4 cup softened butter shopping list
- 2 tbsp brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon juice shopping list
- 3 cups whole wheat pastry flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- ~Filling~ shopping list
- 1/4 cup softened butter shopping list
- 4 tbsp fresh lavender flowers shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 2 Tbsp cinnamon shopping list
- ~Topping~ shopping list
- 1/3 cup maple syrup, warmed shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350°F, lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
- Cream together butter & sugar.
- Add lemon juice and vanilla and blend well.
- Beat in flour, baking powder and salt until mixture is crumbly.
- Make a well in the flour mixture, and mix in milk to form a stiff dough. Do not knead!
- Roll out dough 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface in a rectangle.
- Spread butter over the dough.
- Sprinkle with filling ingredients.
- Starting at the wide edge, roll dough into a spiral, sealing the far edge.
- Cut evenly into 12 rounds.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.
