How to make it

  • Pre heat oven at 200 deg .
  • Grease and line a swiss roll tin with baking paper 26 by 30 cm .
  • On a clean tea towel place a baking paper 30 by 35 cm and sprinkle some sugar on it . Set aside .
  • Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form .
  • Add sugar and beat until it dissolves .
  • Add egg whites and beat until thick .
  • Fold in the flour and hot water .
  • Spead in the tin and bake 10 mins , until firm .
  • Turn onto the sugar paper and peel of the baking paper from the bottom .
  • Roll loosely using the tea towel as a guide and leave it to cool .
  • Now , unroll it .
  • Spead the jam and then cream on top , followed by the berries .
  • Roll again and chill .
  • Top it with whipped cream and strawberries before serving .
  • Serve with in few hours .

    Yes, that's what I know as a "jelly roll" - love them in the Fall made with pumpkin cake and a cream cheese filling. Your recipe looks and sounds delicious...while they take a bit of effort to make, they are sooooo good and well worth the effort! Thanks for another beautiful recipe.
