Greek Tyropites

- 1/2 pound cream cheese shopping list
- 1/2 pound feta cheese crumbled shopping list
- 2 eggs lightly beaten shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg shopping list
- 1 cup butter melted shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter melted shopping list
- 1 pound commercial filo sheets shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl combine cheeses, eggs, flour, salt, nutmeg and 3 tablespoons butter.
- Cover bowl and chill several hours or overnight removing from refrigerator an hour before using.
- Cut filo into thirds then pile up filo and cover with wax paper and damp towel.
- Take out one sheet at a time and keep the rest covered.
- Butter the filo one sheet at a time using a pastry brush and the 1 cup melted butter.
- Place 1 teaspoon filling 1” from end nearest you.
- Fold filo back over filling so bottom edge meets left edge forming a right angle.
- Continue folding back at right angles to make the triangular shape.
- Bake at 350 for 25 minutes turning once then serve hot.
