Smoked Bacon and Macaroni Casserole

- 500 grams macaroni shopping list
- ¼ kilo honey cured bacon shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil shopping list
- 2 big white onions, sliced into rings or red onions (for more taste) shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried basil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- 2 can cream of mushroom soup shopping list
- 1 small box cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Cook macaroni pasta according to package directions.
- Fry bacon in its own fat until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble. Sauté onion rings in oil. Set both aside.
- In a bowl, mix cooked macaroni, basil, pepper, salt, cream of mushroom, crumpled bacon, and half of the cooked onion rings. Add crated cheese (leave some for topping). Transfer mixture to a buttered casserole.
- Bake, covered, at 350F for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven. Top with the rest of the onion rings, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Bake again for a couple of minutes, uncovered, until cheeses melt.
