How to make it

  • Cook the pasta as directed
  • Place enough oil in the bottom on the pan to give it an even coating, add the garlic, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper and saute on high until the garlic just barely begins to brown.
  • Quickly add the canned tomatoes and capers, continue cooking on high and allow the garlic and tomatoes to marry. About five minutes.
  • Once the sauce starts to bubble slightly, add the basil and squeeze the fresh citrus into the sauce. Stir to combine.
  • The meal is basically done from here, but it always tastes better if it sits. I like to put the flame on low and set a lid on top of the pot while I fix a quick salad, by the time I am done making the salad the flavors have incorporated together. Mmm so good!
