DAVES TRASH OATMEAL COOKIES Recipe
These are the cookies my husband makes with the Grandkids after all the other cookie baking is done at Christmas.. The put in ALL the left overs. They are great!

Ingredients
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL
  • 2 cups butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
  • 1 cup or more of each: raisins, flaked coconut, walnuts or pecans, chocolate chips any and all the left overs..

Directions
  1. Mix the flour, baking soda, salt and oats together..set aside.
  2. Cream the sugars until light, add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add the flour mixture in. Mix well.
  4. Stir in the rest of the ingredents..
  5. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.. Do not overbake.
  6. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Yes you can use half and half.. We also have used a good quality original stick margerine.. like Parkay, Smart Balance etc.. Just don't use diet.. as it has water..
