Ingredients
  • 1 day old baguette or maybe 2 baguettes if smaller
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (removed from the casing, fried, crumbled and drained of fat)
  • 300 gm Cheddar cheese, grated (1 reg sized package or ½ of a long one)
  • 2 Cups cooked left over veggies, chopped or thawed frozen veggies, chopped (I like broccolli for the colour)
  • 9 eggs, beaten slightly
  • 3 cups milk or 10% cream
  • Seasoning to taste (salt, pepper, garlic powder)
  • Handful of dried parsley

Directions
  1. Cut the bread into cubes, I leave the crust on but if you don’t like it then remove it. Put it in a big mixing bowl and add the solids to it and toss a bit (the sausage and the veggies). Mix the eggs with the milk and the seasonings and parsley and pour over the bread in the bowl. Mix to distribute and then put into a 9x13 baking pan, cover with foil and place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or overnight.
  2. Bake in a 350 F oven for 45 minutes; remove the foil and bake 15 minutes longer. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
