How to make it

  • Mix sugar, butter, eggs, buttermilk, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and flour by hand.
  • Add fruit and pecans.
  • Spray 12 large loaf pans with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Fill pans 2/3 full then cook in pans filled half full of water to prevent over cooking.
  • Bake at 275 for one hour then allow to rest for 10 minutes then remove from pan and cool.

    Hey Sweetie, I miss your compliments, where have you been. I miss you. I love fruitcake (the drunken kind) but I can't deal with the candied fruit, so I use dried fruit marinated in rum or brandy. This recipe sounds very good. You have my 5. Have a good night, w/ hugs....Cheryl

    I am probably one of the few people who actually like fruit cake (in small doses). Might actually try this for the holidays. Thanks for posting the recipe.
