Indian Quick Bread poori

- 1 cup whole wheat flour shopping list
- 1 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- dash of salt shopping list
- water(about a cup or less) shopping list
- oil shopping list
How to make it
- Mix together wheat flour and all purpose in medium mixing bowl or food processor..
- Add salt , 1 tsp oil and water(a little at a time until you get a heavy but pliable dough)
- Keep dough covered with a damp towel and let sit for a few minutes while you heat the oil..
- Make small balls and roll out into 4 to 5 diameter circles onto a flour surface .
- Fry in hot oil.
- The poori should puff up a little.
- Cook until golden brown (just a few seconds).
- Flip and cook the other side.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with salt if desired.
- Serve with Soups, stews, or curries.

yeah.. this is a classic indian bread.. i have had it many times with those hot mashed garbanzo beans... quite interesting but down homey feeling food. sometimes the simple things can't be beat.
