How to make it

  • Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
  • Line Dutch oven with foil.
  • Grease foil with margarine.
  • Arrange pineapple and cherries on foil.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and 3 Tbsp. reserved juice over fruit.
  • Prepare cake mix using package directions.
  • Pour over fruit.
  • Place cover on Dutch oven.
  • Place 1-inch above hot coals.
  • Top with hot coals.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cake tests done.
  • Cool for 10 minutes.
  • Invert onto platter; Peel off foil.
