How to make it

  • Cut steak into cubes.
  • Heat oil and fry mustard seeds until they burst then add fenugreek, garlic, ginger and onion.
  • Fry until onions are golden then add turmeric and fry 1 minute.
  • Add coriander, cumin and chili then stir well.
  • Add salt and vinegar and fry until liquid evaporates.
  • Sprinkle in garam masala and mix well then add meat and turn until coated.
  • Add extra vinegar if spices start to stick then reduce heat and cover then simmer 2 hours.
  • Add cubed potatoes and cover then cook 30 minutes longer and garnish with coriander.
