Baked Beef Brisket Recipe
BAKED BEEF BRISKET This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Elmhurst Estate in Heath, Texas in 1981.

Ingredients
  • 4 pound boneless beef brisk
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3 large white onions thickly sliced
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup cold water

Directions
  1. Place brisket fat side up in open roasting pan.
  2. Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic over top of brisket then add onions.
  3. Bake at 350 for 1 hour then add hot water and cover pan tightly with foil.
  4. Reduce oven temperature to 300 and continue cooking 2 hours.
  5. Remove brisket and onions to warm platter.
  6. Combine cornstarch and cold water then stir into cooking liquid and cook until thick.
  7. Serve gravy with brisket.
