How to make it

  • Melt the candy bars in the top of a double boiler.
  • Preheat the oven to 300F.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add the melted candy bars and stir well. Add the buttermilk, flour and soda and combine. Stir until well mixed.
  • Add the vanilla and chopped nuts. Stir to combine.
  • Grease and flour two loaf baking pans and then evenly seperate the batter between the two pans.
  • Bake for 70 to 90 minutes testing for desired doneness. Allow cakes to cool before slicing.
