How to make it

  • ---Chocolate Layer---
  • Combine agar, water and cocoa in a saucepan, blending well.
  • Bring to a simmer and cook, whisking, 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, stir in sugar, salt and milk.
  • Pour evenly into 6 glasses or cups and let stand (in refrigerator) 2 hours.
  • ---Malt Layer---
  • Combine agar, water and Ovaltine in a saucepan, blending well.
  • Bring to a simmer and cook, whisking, 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, stir in sugar, milk and vanilla.
  • Carefully ladle over the chocolate jelly in the glasses.
  • Refrigerate until firm.
