- 168g (6oz) margarine shopping list
- 168g (6oz) caster sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 252g (9oz) SR flour, sieved shopping list
- 2 drops almond essence shopping list
- Topping (butter icing): shopping list
- 56g (2oz) butter/marg shopping list
- 112g (4oz) icing sugar, sieved shopping list
- food coloring (optional) shopping list
- Additional flavours: shopping list
- vanilla essence shopping list
- almond essence shopping list
- grated orange/lemon rind shopping list
- chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 170*C
- In a large bowl, cream the marg and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and beat well
- Fold in sifted flour
- Place teaspoons of mixture into paper cases
- Bake until golden brown and springy to touch.
- Butter icing:
- Cream fat and gradually add icing sugar, mix well.
- Add a drop of food colouring
