Bacon Bread

- 1 Pound (really good) bacon shopping list
- 3 Cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 Cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons baking powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke shopping list
- 1-1/2 Cups milk shopping list
How to make it
- Brown bacon until crisp,drain on paper towels.
- Reserve 1/3 Cup of the bacon drippings.
- Cool bacon,crumble and set aside.
- In a large bowl,combine the flour,sugar,baking powder and salt.
- In a medium bowl,whisk together reserved bacon drippings(cooled to room temperture),and the eggs,liquid smoke and milk.
- Add egg mixture to dry ingredients,stir ( just )until moistened.
- Fold in bacon.
- Pour batter into a greased 5x9 loaf pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes,turn out onto cooling rack and cool completely.
- Store in airtight container
- Makes 1 loaf
