Apricot Pork Sausage Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Mix all ingredients.
  3. Shape mix into 20 balls.
  4. Place in ungreased 13"x9"x2" pan.
  5. Bake uncovered about 20 minutes or until no longer pink in center; drain well.
  6. Spicy Apricot Glaze
  7. 1/2 cup apricot preserves
  8. 1/3 cup sweet-and-sour sauce
  9. 1/4 Tbsp five-spice powder
  10. Mix together in small saucepan.
  11. Heat and pour over sausage.

Hmmmm, you gave me an idea, what if I made the sausage, stuffed it in a casing and hot smoked it? Would it be overpowered by the smoke? I love pork and apricot and I can see making this just as written, but I'm jus' thinkin' out loud. Rare Friday off, and I'm loving it, can't you tell?


I love pork and apricot together so I'm lovin this one!
